I feel the phrase "I am going for a walk." defines the time. It has certainly gained more importance for me, as the lockdown goes on. I recall March 2020- a long time ago, somehow- and taking those first single walks in a day. My appreciation for so many things was sharpened. For instance for the street I walked in that I commonly only used to get somewhere else had detail and character. For instance signs of spring were showing in the quietly patient plant life I passed. For instance the light was different day to day, as I looked up and around more than previously.

Against some hibernating instinct it seems we must take action to generate our own warmth. As my body rejoices in simple fluid movement, I am grateful too for the presence of those I pass, the details each new day is offering me, and even a familiar but newly appreciated return to home.
